Description
Mirror — What Finds Us in Others
Part of the Imprint / Mirror / Release series, this work emerged from a period of personal and relational transition — shaped by change, shifting understandings of connection, and the recognition that not all relationships are meant to remain.
Some exist only long enough to reflect something back.
Rather than depicting form, the work registers presence. Built through layered handmade pulp, ground coffee, pigment, and pressure, the surface holds traces of contact, resistance, and memory.
Materials are chosen for their ability to stain, compress, and retain — mirroring how experience settles into the body, and into relationship.
The work resolves before the final oil layer: not unfinished, but complete at the point of truth — where holding gives way to release.
The surface becomes a site of encounter.
Where permitted, the surface may be touched softly.
